02 – Benjamin

When I was ten
I met a boy named Benjamin.
Well he was my age
and i wanted to be just like him.

Cause he was cool
he broke all the rules
And he never got caught
cause all those fools thought he was blind.

So I went down
to the barber and I cut my hair.
Walked like ben talked like him
I pierced my ear man I was almost there.

And girls they looked at me
so differently.
And one day I got up the nerve
to say sweet thing come dance with me.

But those days are in the past
and I’m still here.
It seemed it went by so fast in this 21st year
this 21st year.
Well it’s been ten
years since I’ve seen Benjamin.

Last I heard from him
he was catching fish in Ireland.
He said the beer it costs a lot
but they grow some killer pot.

Man I sure wish you were here
drinking a beer, smok’n a bone – fishin off the pier.
So I quit my job,
and bought a 70 foot sailboat.

I packed my fishing rod,
the next thing knew I was afloat.
Man times are good,
my boats Norwegian wood,
and my sails are big and wide
and atop this ocean is where I reside.

And these days I watch my mast,
while drink’n a beer.
I grab my fishing pole and take a cast,
but I still steer, so I don’t veer….
